Remotely Access Your Cisco NSS322 NAS Device

Introduction

Your Cisco NSS Smart Storage device is a great way to expand your storage options for your home or small business network. The Cisco NSS not only offers storage locally on your network, but it also offers a WWW server with integrated applications like MySQL and Wordpress as well as an FTP server for obtaining access to your files REMOTELY over the Internet.

This tutorial will show you how to signup with a free 30-day trial of the TZO Dynamic DNS service and configure your Cisco NSS and Linksys router to gain remote access to your Cisco NSS Smart Storage device.

Requirements

This tutorial assumes you have followed the Cisco NSS Smart Storage user guide and have already run through the setup CD for the product. You should already have set a Static LAN IP address and should be able to log into the Cisco NSS using your web browser or the Cisco NSS Discovery tool before you begin this tutorial. For more information on the Cisco NSS, see Cisco.com.
